The "Star Trek" franchise gets a shot in the arm in this modern day reboot of the classic sci-fi property. In short, this is one of the finest films the genre has produced in quite some time. Director J.J. Abrams does a great job of making the story and characters accessible to first timers while still doing justice to the source material. This is an exciting, funny, and imaginative tour de force that came as a big surprise and will undoubtedly go down in sci-fi movie history as a classic.
